Ethan Turned Two!

Ethan has turned two! He had a fun birthday with a Thomas the Train cake that Johnny helped me create and lots of family to help him celebrate. Now the only problem is when someone brings a present by for Miss Mallory he thinks its for him. He is such a little man who wants to be big and do big things so badly. He is a fun guy to have around though and will help you with anything.

Welcome to the Blog Mallory - Its only taken me a month!

Mallory had some pictures taken by my good friend Crystal Freeman. It was a quick photo shoot and Mallory only wet the blanket once! She just sat there politely while Crystal and I moved her around changing her bows and skirt. That pretty much sums up her personality. She has been such a good baby. Just give her some food and her bed and she is a happy camper. It has been so much fun to have her in our home. I love to cuddle with her and look at her beautiful face, tiny hands, and feel her full belly after she eats. She has been sleeping 5 to 7 hours at night which means that I am getting sleep! It just seems like she knows what she needs, she tells me, and we get it done. Things have gone very smoothly since she come home. The boys love her so much! Johnny calls her "Mal" and Ethan is working on Mallory but uses the word baby more often because he can say that better. Ethan LOVES to hold Mallory. When it is story time before naps or bedtime I lie her on his pillow in between him and I and he is just a happy camper. I am sure that he wishes that she could sleep by him all night long. Ethan is also a very good listener when it comes to hear Mallory crying. He will run to me and say that she is crying and then dash off to find her and try to help her feel better. Usually she is in her bed and he gives her all the binkys he can find, blankets, cream, all knowing that those are her things so they should make her happy. John and Ethan are such wonderful brothers and already are very protective of their little sister. It is going to be very fun to watch them all grow up together.

The Love of Brothers

I love how good of friends John and Ethan are! They play so well together. Johnny has his moments where he wants to play on his level, make believe, fighting, things like that. Ethan will just follow him around when he does that but most of the time John and Ethan meet in the middle and play on an even plane that both of them can understand. One of the things that Johnny and Ethan are HUGE fans of doing is playing basketball. They love to have me cheer while they run around the kitchen on our basketball court. Our basketball court is when we move the kitchen table out of the way and put the hoop in the middle of the dinning area. They are such great boys not to mention amazing basketball players!

Times and Seasons of the Farm

Do you remember these two cute little snorting baby pigs?


We got them last November. But now they have morphed into these:



They are HUGE...and very hungry ALL THE TIME! Not to mention that their skin now looks like it needs a gallon of lotion rubbed on them. Not that I would actually do that...my job is just to feed them. Roger is the lover...not that I am a hater of them but they have gotten my pj's dirty one to many times when I go out to feed them. (Yes, if you come to my house early enough you'll see me feeding pigs in a bathrobe, mulk boots, and awesome hair!) Well these two ladies have grown to about 200 lbs. I have found out that they eat ANYTHING...except they aren't too found of dried beans (old food storage) and onions that had been frozen. They are going to fill our freezer with lots of yummy sausage, bacon, pork roast, and ham. We took them down to the butcher a few days ago. I was surprised when we got home and the pigs that weren't there to greet us didn't puzzle John or Ethan too much. It has been fun to see them grow but I still like chickens better. Which brings me to another purchase.

Fourteen baby chicks that are doing well. These little cuties grow so fast. Roger's chicken coop has been put to great use! We are excited about getting TONS of eggs come August or September. So if your ever in the neighborhood give me a call and you can come by for a omelet with a side of bacon or sausage.
